Sec 4s step down from Band
♫♪I love NAS, Concert Band, Trombones and my seniors!!♪♫Sec 4s have stepped down from Band, yesterday. Yesterday wasn't a very good practice though. In fact it was quite a bad one, lots of slacking. We got another song, so now we have Procession To Peace and Flight Of The Piasa which I haven't tried the whole song. And yesterday's Sec 1 recital. Why so early?! So much earlier than last year's, which was I think in August -.- Don't tell me the conductors want them to join Main Band after the exams -.-''' It was ok la. Why this year everything so early?... 'O' Levels pushed forward, seniors' step down also earlier, damn recital also earlier. It's not fair.
That last practice was so sucky! Darryl had test so he came before practice started and left for the test, then came back later. (The test starts at 2.30pm when practice starts-.-) Then he left for tuition at 5.30pm, which is early but late. Early because no one's left yet, and late cos he's supposed to go at 5.15pm. And there was a lot of slacking during sectionals too. *sighs* When I become SL next year I won't let them slack. And I want to be in the Band Committee...
Remember last year, I cried after Cai Yan jie graduated from Band and CH didn't wanna teach me. When she left I was still in Junior Band... But I'm in Main Band now, and I don't really feel anything. Maybe I will only feel something on the next practice. Like last year, I don't know which day she step down and I only cried on the Saturday after she step down when the Sec 1s practise with seniors. And remember before the CNY performance, they bluff me say CH going Taiwan for 2 years -.- and I cried to think that at Sec 2 I'll have no senior left in Band. I was pretty sure I'd cry every year when one of them leaves, and when I leave. Maybe the next practice (after exams) when he's not here anymore ba... Would I have cried yesterday if it was CY?...
Well... seems like I've failed to be friendlier, cos I'm still not close to any of them, sadly. Despite that fact, I'll still miss you, so you better come back like you promised. ...I'm left with only Cheng Heng now. Anyway, I love both of you, not forgetting CY jie of course. We'll always be one section, one family, and we'll always rock together. Just hope that one day they'll come back together. (I feel a bit like crying now, just a teeny weeny bit)

SYF Central Judging 2009
♫♪I love NAS, Concert Band, Trombones and my seniors!!♪♫Today was SYF Central Judging 2009. I woke up at 5.30am to reach school by 7.15am. My father help me carry my trombone. When I reached there, I didn't see my family. I thought they'd be earlier than me. Then Xue Qi said Dar came and went upstairs alr. Then we went upstairs and the others still waited there. We got chocolate, I forgot from who. Mdm Julinda gave us a lollipop each with a paper with well wishes :D By the way, she's not with Band anymore, she was in charge of Band last year. And she gave us lollipop last year too with "I AM THE BEST" pasted on it. The sticker's still with me :) Cai Yan came! Thank you Cai Yan Jie Jie, we love you! When we're going to the bus, she wanted to take pic of 3 of us (her beloved jrs :D and she's our beloved beloved big sister :D :D) but I think didn't manage to cos of some people -.- But, we still have a lot of chances :DIn the bus I wanted to sit right behind but taken alr, so I sat behind CH. Woah for the first time, our family actually sat together in the bus, although not really together but close enough. Sing A Monmouth Overture and Overture No. 1, haha! My section sang ok! But we didn't last the whole song, every time suddenly stop cos cannot hear the parts, and also cos never sing properly, haha! When we reached, there were 2 other schools. One was red blazer also, but inside white. Another is blue blazer with 2 guy trombonists and 3 girl trombonists with all the same brand and colour of trombone, except maybe some tenor some bass, but looks the same. Ours got CH odd one out, haha. Luckily we change uniform if not we look like the other school. Their blazer same shade as us and got school crest at the same place too o.o The blue school moved off then we and the other school moved to the left. Then Dar tell me to tell myself that we will be better than them. I asked "Who are they in the first place?" Anglican. OMG, that's Anglican? (Of course la, they're before us what, the blue one must be Commonwealth la) After Anglican moved off we moved left again. Blow warm air into trombone. I sang into it too, haha! I almost cried eh! I suddenly feel like crying (but didn't) suddenly feel like talking to CY. They asked us to off hp but I didn't cos CY want me to SMS her before results later so she can call and hear it herself. Our turn to move off. We went to some room to tune again and all. Got 5 rows there (why ah?) then Dar actually went to the 4th row alr (correct) then he thought that's the 3rd row then he move to the back. Then I haven't move there yet (not as anxious as them haha) and saw he go behind then I was gonna go behind too. Then he realised that WAS the 4th row and go back in front. Hahaha! Never mind la, save me the trouble since he go first. Oh ya, last row for percussion right? After that we go wait outside the Hall while Anglican perform. Can see them on the TV there.Soon it was our turn. OMG, I go in first eh! Last row first. Unlucky la, the stand for me so low (probably no one used it in Anglican so lowered it) then I had to use the one on my left, which is like useless alr. On my left how to see... We're supposed to go in and remain standing, then Darryl go sit down omg! Haha! When they announce our choice piece, the guy read wrongly like "A Men..Monmouth Overture" then Dar was laughing you know?! Ok, Overture No. 1 ending was bad, some short some long. I think my note too short. Mr Yeo's face showed disappointment. Monmouth ending note was better. I think CH played very long, I played shorter than him. Getting off the stage, I was waiting for the front rows to get off by the stairs, then the people tell me to go by the back. So it's like backstage there. They said go by the staircase. Then I go in see the "Store Room" was like ??? after that then the stairs. CH was saying go into the store room. Hahaha!We put our instruments outside where we waited to go in. Darryl talking to CH, said they rock, haha. Must be 150 again. I don't have that part.. then I look at him then he said we rock (includin me this time, lol) Good to see them happy :) Results, there was an awkward silence. CY was on the line but when they announced she didn't hear. She asked what we got, I said Bronze. Can hear she's disappointed. I said sorry, and she said it's ok but we all know it's not. I cried when principal Mr Lim started his speech. Later, thanks for trying to comfort me Dar and SUKY Jie! She believes in me! :D Suky gave the most comfort :D Thanks for those SMSes, I saved them and I'll remember what you said always! Trombone (& CH), SYF, my determination
♫♪I love NAS, Concert Band, Trombones and my seniors!!♪♫I brought my trombone back! :D My trombone is 49 inches, one position is about 3 inches apart. And, CH damn rocks! My trombone with the slide extended all the way (means past position 7) is 76 inches. I calculated and in cm, it's 190cm! OMG! First thing I thought of: Same height as Cheng Heng. CH's hand's as long as the slide, and he same height as the whole trombone! Damn cool!SYF's tomorrow. GO TROMBONE SECTION! Hopefully you realise all the staccatos and everything. I tell Darryl he never play the staccatos then he don't believe. Wanna get what Gold like that? Can't he be like CH? People tell him then he correct the mistake la. People tell him then he say don't have -.- Hopeless la. I don't care anymore. Because of him, points are going to be deducted, just because he THINKS he's playing correctly. Wth, SL -.- CH would be a good SL after SYF. Just hope that he wakes up and play properly tomorrow, which is almost impossible.We must get Silver of more than 73% because during the 2nd National Band Competition, they got around 72/73% and same for Genting Competition, which means NO improvement. We better improve this time. If not I'll be even more depressed and cry even more than in Genting. Well, I might even hold a grudge against him...Last year I blamed myself because before the competition I practised then I couldn't pitch the high notes during the actual thing. I probably won't blame myself this year. I'm more aware now, and more well prepared now. I will not tire myself out before the competition. Who knows who I will blame this time. And by the way, eupho is still playing wrong notes now -.- What's more during the melody, and play so loud also. Starting part also. WTF, that one confirm minus marks. Idiot! Can't these kinda people just get out of the band?!The band is as good as its weakest player. This is the line that made me cry my eyes almost dry. But tomorrow, I will not be the weakest player. This line will not make me depressed. This line will not have any effect on me. I will be the strongest player as much as possible. I will be proud of my playing. If I am disappointed, only a small percentage of it will be my fault, because I will play music with all my heart. I will not be angry at myself unless I screw up, which is 1% (out of 100%) possible. I am a Gold player. But the results don't depend on only one person, it depends on everyone together. If I play well and we get a Silver, it just means that others are Silver players. I will only be disappointed in their selfish ways (of not working for it) for making everyone, including those who worked hard, get a Silver. But I know I've done my best in my life. I have never put all my heart and so much commitment and hard work into anything else but this. I will do my best. I will do my seniors proud. I will do NAS Band proud. I will do myself proud. Tomorrow is the day, it's a matter of life and death. So everyone just work hard and there'll be no one to blame because then, we are all selfless and committed, we are all Gold players. Band practice, the last before SYF

Band practice today! Dar came, don't know how he manaed to get away from his beloved (tuition), haha. CH came of course. I used different bag today, my mother's. From STU (S'pore Teachers' Union) They both earlier than me. Dar's using his tenor trombone again. CH, never used a temporary one. If he could still use it on Tuesday why does it need to be repaired?? Sectionals. CH wanted to use our spot at the table we also use on Saturday but Dar go downstairs, the part where it was once windy.
Oh, now I'm listening to Merry Widows Selections. I finally know this is the song Pasir Ris Sec Band played at Genting! I heard it first at Trombone worksop. Their trombone Section very big but only one girl too! Anyway, my band music playlist on imeem.com has 80+ songs now because I go to Band Fusion to see the title of every band's choice piece and find it on imeem and add to my playlist if they have it. I didn't listen to the whole song when I add, only the starting part to hear if it's clear enough and whether got interruptions.

Filming, miss band practice and cramps
♫♪I love NAS, Concert Band, Trombones and my seniors!!♪♫Yo yo! Yesterday 2R6 had to stay back because MediaCorp came to film us cheering for him. The plan was we meet in the hall at 2.30pm and go to the library at 3pm.They're supposed to come at 3 but late slightly. I was one of the last few who left the class. The hall was locked and no one's inside so we went to the library first. Then later it was open so we went there. And practise the cheer, eeh.. so sucky (as was CH would have said, haha) Then we went to the library when the MediaCorp people came. I saw some band mates at the computer nearest to the door. I sat there and did nothing, I didn't even know Darryl was there. I was sitting on the chair right beside the computers, only separated by a red see-through plastic/glass panel. How lame. They're looking at Band Fusion I think, I heard them talking about bands and their songs. I beat them to it, I saw Band Fusion Wednesday or Tuesday, haha. Dar even brought his mouthpiece. We finished at about 4.15pm. As I was walking out of the school, I could hear very clearly metronome sound and clarinet. I didn't know clarinets and metronomes were so loud. Ah maybe Dar went for band la, that's why he got mouthpiece. But who cares? Haha!
Today is Friday, first period is PE. First lesson on soccer! Yay! I don't think you know, since young I've liked soccer but never played and don't know the rules. But teacher made us go in pairs and scoring is only considered as scoring when the ball is between the markers and we stop the ball?! I fell down, haha! Ouch, my tailbone! Later, I heard Megan fell too, but lucky enough for her it's just on the butt and it doesn't hurt. I fell on my bone! And even if it was my butt it'll still hurt cos I'm so skinny. Later Art. Ms Coelho's absent so there's some Mr Fong as relieve. I had stomach cramp suddenly while I was doing my art! My face was damn pale and I was sweating a bit. I asked Nurlena to go toilet with me. Then that guy go say in Chinese "Are you old folks?..." then don't know what, probably asking why we have to go together. Nurlena's obviously a Malay! Then she said I want to go then he only let me. (He obviously can't see I'm sick despite my actions, expressions and colour of my face!) Then when I went out he 'girl! girl!' I thought he's calling me to get exit pass or what then I turn back, he let Nurlena go with me. Someone must have told the blind man I'm sick. During recess, I slept. When I woke up I was fine.Get ready to go Home Econs room for the practical test. OMG it came again, but less. When I went there I was still having it didn't worsen. Before anything started, Wen Ling went (staff) toilet with me. I puked, I think it was saliva(and acid)! (Puke saliva?!)When I woke up after recess, there was some saliva or don't know what in my mouth. Joey brought me to tell teacher that I'm sick. Just as well, I'm afraid that it'll worsen halfway and affect my practical. So she let me sit in front, and I slept throughout, with intervals where I woke up. Then I was ok :D There's band practice but I decided to go home in case like just now, it comes back, and the band room is air-coned too. When I was walking out of school, I saw the 2 trombone cases and Ms Deepa at the bench. Yay, their trombones are fixed! :D I SMSed my 2 lovely big brothers to tell them why I'm not going later and 'congrats, your trombone's repaired :)' haha!
